Aziza is a rising senior at Colby College pursuing a major in Biology (Cellular and Molecular Biology/Biochemistry) and a minor in Data Science. She worked in the Munger Lab during the summer as part of Jackson Lab's Summer Student Program, building a computational pipeline to infer Diversity Outbred mouse genotypes directly from RNA-seq data as an alternative to traditional genotyping arrays. She's continuing this year as an Academic Year Fellow, mapping diet-responsive expression quantitative trait loci in the retinal pigment epithelium relevant to age-related macular degeneration, and hopes to pursue a Ph.D. in genetics and genomics upon graduation.
